So, yesterday was the start of me getting a proper ‘wine education’! A week after attending a relaxed and informal day at Berry Bros last weekend, tasting wine and indulging in a rather glorious lunch, yesterday I went back to school there. WSET school to be precise. And I am starting at the bottom: WSET1! I am reliably informed that it pays to start at the beginning so that each stage of the WSET levels operates as a building block for the next. I won’t know the outcome for a couple of weeks but I have already enrolled on WSET2 and take that exam in 5 weeks. I am beginning to think I must be a sucker for punishment. Either that, or my vinthusiasm is getting a bit out of hand!
